Samsung Electronics has announced a landmark leadership overhaul to enhance its competitiveness and drive future growth. Young Hyun Jun, Vice Chairman and Head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In her expanded role, she will also oversee the Memory Business and lead the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, underscoring the company’s focus on memory technology as a cornerstone of its long-term strategy.
Jinman Han, who previously served as Executive Vice President and President of Device Solutions America, has been appointed President and Head of the Foundry Business. Han is well-positioned to excel in this role with extensive experience in semiconductor design and strategic planning. Adding to the Foundry Business's leadership, Seok Woo Nam has been named Chief Technology Officer, a newly established position aimed at fostering innovation in semiconductor manufacturing.
Samsung has also assigned Hansung Ko, the CEO of Samsung Bioepis, to lead the newly formed Future Business Division. Recognized for advancing Samsung’s biotechnology initiatives, Ko will spearhead the company’s exploration into emerging industries beyond its traditional technology focus.
JH Han, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Device eXperience (DX) Division, will now chair a newly created company-wide committee dedicated to enhancing product quality across Samsung’s diverse offerings. Additional changes include Yong Kwan Kim, previously Executive Vice President of the Business Support Task Force, being promoted to President of Management Strategy for the DS Division. Meanwhile, Wonjin Lee will assume the role of President and Head of the Global Marketing Office. Former CFO Hark Kyu Park will transition to lead the Business Support Task Force.
