Anthropic, a US-based AI startup, has launched new versions of its AI model that have human-like capabilities to execute quite complicated tasks.

What does it exactly do?

This new feature enables the AI model to move the mouse, click, and type making it capable of performing complex tasks. It helps the AI model to perform multi-step actions involving interpretation, decision-making, execution, and finally real-time internet browsing.

This particular development successfully imitates a human-like capability of performing a slew of actions designated to conclude.

Availability

Anthropic has three versions under its AI model that it offers to its customers at varying price points. Currently, this new feature is available in two models of Calude AI namely, Sonnet, the mid-tier model, and Haiku, the cheapest model of the AI.

It has been available as a public beta for developers since its launch while commercial availability is expected over the next few months or early next year.

Use Cases

The new feature is similar to an AI agent, a leap from chatbots, that can perform tasks including tens or even hundreds of steps, the company claims. Its potential use cases include Flight Bookings, Streamlining Appointments, Filling Forms, and many more.

What is an AI agent?

Moving beyond chatbots and AI-generated responses, AI agents are the upcoming future in the enterprise application of AI. Simply stated, an algorithm that can perform specific tasks on behalf of a human counterpart is termed an AI agent. As companies increase their AI dependence, the emergence of AI agents seems a near future.

The industry seems quite confident and welcoming of this trend as companies like Google, Microsoft, and others are developing Twitter AI agents to allow corporations to embrace new technology with confidence.

Anthropic

The AI startup, backed by Alphabet and Amazon, aims to compete with Open AI as it continues to launch innovations in enterprise as well as consumer-oriented verticals. Interestingly, it is founded by Open AI’s former research executives.

Prospects

As companies plan to invest more and more in AI agents, the era of machines behaving like humans seems a close call. This poses many opportunities as well as challenges for humankind in areas like innovation, employment, and most importantly technology.
