In his recent tweet, Sam Altman, Open AI’s CEO, announced exciting additions to the OpanAI Pro plan. You will now get 100 deep research queries per month, unlimited Sora, unlimited ChatGPT, o1 pro, and Operator, among other offerings with the OpenAI Pro plan.  The 200$ OpenAI Pro plan, unveiled in December, enables users to have scaled access to OpenAI’s best models and tools.   

The new additions are aimed at increasing the target market of the Pro plan as hinted in the CEO’s tweet. The tweet reads” I think it is a great deal for many users!” with a previous mention of Pro useful only to a few. It hints at the company exploring ways to improve the revenue earned by the same from its paid vertical. It must be because the CEO has earlier told people that the company is facing losses from its pro plans. 

OpenAI Pro: Previous Plan

With the previous plan, you had unlimited access to OpenAI’s most advanced model, o1, along with o1-mini, GPT-4o, and Advanced Voice. The plan also included o1 Pro Mode, a high-performance version of o1 that leverages more computing power to tackle complex problems with even greater accuracy.

OpenAI Pro: Aggressive Plans 

Looking at OpenAI’s approach towards its customers, it seems the company is now trying hard to keep up its customer base as challenges from Deep Seek make it nervous. These offerings also enhance the overall benefit to the end user making it easy to choose among the various AI models cluttering the space- turning the AI space into a hardcore SaaS arena with cutting-throat competition.

Through this, the company plans to tackle two challenges namely losses from pro plans & also increasing footprint of DeepSeek.
