On the 9th day of 12 Days, 12 Livestreams, Open AI, the parent company of ChatGPT, unveils an all-new toll-free number for people to access ChatGPT services through telephone calls. This enhances the accessibility aspect of ChatGPT services. The company has furthered the debate surrounding the accessibility of AI services even to those areas with infrequent internet connectivity. 

It is a welcoming development enabling the world to gain universal access to AI, thus leaping the net neutrality debate to mean AI neutrality- taking technologies to the home, literally! 

The comfort of WhatsApp and call 

With this innovation, the company has brought the convenience of AI like fetching recipes, making plans, brainstorming ideas, etc to the comfort of WhatsApp, a personal chatting app. This follows the typical model of enabling seamless accessibility through careful integration. 

It is available to people all across the world. 

On Call 

The company has also introduced a toll-free number to enable even non-connected users to enjoy the comfort of an AI model on call. This feature enables users to access the facilities of an AI chatbot on the call itself surpassing the debates around connectivity and reach by bringing the services available to the basic least. 

The feature is currently available only in the US. It’s 180024284 78. 

Can it process files over WhatsApp? 

Interestingly, ChatGPT available on WhatsApp doesn’t go all out in enabling users to upload files and stuff to help users with various processes associated with analysis and review. The model says ”I can’t directly receive or process file uploads e.g., PDFs, Word, Images, etc. 

So basically, ChatGPT on WhatsApp is a chatbot powered by a large language model that can generate only text-based responses for the queries generated by users. It receives queries in text and in return, delivers responses in text format only.    

The chat window over WhatsApp can handle only text and generate simple responses.

Can it generate images over WhatsApp? 

Based on the response received from the model upon asking if it can generate images in the WhatsApp window itself, it responds negatively. The model boats of itself as facilitating Text-Based Interaction only. It means the model over WhatsApp can not help out with visual elements.

Can GPT Voicechat over WhatsApp?

No, it can't. The model available over WhatsApp has been designed to handle only text-based queries and not any sort of query like chat and Santa inputs available over the ChatGPT model, launched recently.  

The model lacks a lot of features that other ChatGPT models have like Santa, Advanced Voice, and also image and video generation parts.
