ChatGPT ranked 6th among the top 10 websites in January 2025, the only AI website to feature in the list by Simailarweb. This comes amid the ongoing tussle between Silicon Valley-based AI innovations and China's all-new DeepSeek. ChatGPT accounts for around 2.33 percent of the total traffic, a growth of 5.91 percent over the previous month’s record. 

In addition, it shows a growth of around 42% in India in terms of traffic reaching the website in January-December 2024 as compared to 19 Million in January-December 2023. Apart from this, it registers the highest growth in France wherein it has reached from 4 Million in 2023 to 8M in 2024, registering a growth of approximately 87 percent. 

ChatGPT: Recent Data 

Compared to the annual data, the January website traffic data paints an optimistic picture for ChatGPT. As its Chinese rival- equipped with all the latest technology, is all set to gain ground in the global AI traffic ChatGPT getting the sixth spot in the Top 10 websites in the US holds immense significance.

Moving beyond the US, specific records and figures relating to the growth of AI globally reflect its global acceptance and accessibility which its Chinese rival doesn’t enjoy. This puts the Silicon Valley-based AI company in a good spot as compared to its rivals. 

ChatGPT Vs Gemini 

While Gemini doesn’t get any spot among the top 10 websites globally, it gets 8th spot in the top 10 apps in iOS in the US.  Interestingly, among the top 10 apps ChatGPT ranks second while its Chinese rival DeepSeek ranks 1st, as per the data by Similarweb.
