The previously launched 1800-CHATGPT gets a slew of updates including voice chat and image upload features. Under this, you can now Voice-chat with the ChatGPT while chatting on WhatsApp. Kevin Weil, OpenAI’s Chief Product Officer, announces the updates in a post on X. Also OpenAI is currently working on a feature to enable you to attach your Pro or Plus GPT account with your WhatsApp. 

The feature, 1800- CHATGPT, introduced a toll-free number to enable you to enjoy the comfort of an AI model on call. This feature enables users to access the facilities of an AI chatbot just by calling 1800 - 24284 78  or Chatting with it over WhatsApp. It surpasses the debates around connectivity and reach by bringing the services available to the basic least.

ChatGPT Over WhatsApp: Availability 

The feature is now available to you whether sitting in the US India or anywhere else- basically around the globe awaiting your “Hi” on WhatsApp.  The CPO announced the same in his recent post on X. 

ChatGPT Over WhatsApp: Can You Also Generate Images With it? 

While the CPO announced accepting and analyzing images in prompts, it is still unclear as to whether it can generate images over WhatsApp or not. But upon reading the announcement between the lines, it comes to light that it can’t as of now as it doesn’t support the premium plans.

As the integration remains under development, it is indicative that the feature might get its way as soon as the integration is enabled.

ChatGPT over WhatsApp: Can You upload files? 

Interestingly, ChatGPT over WhatsApp still has limitations when it comes to file uploads and related functionalities for analysis and review. The model is yet not equipped to handle files like Word or PDF but it can read into the text and images as provided in the chat window. 

This is a promising development that brings AI to the masses, redefining the net neutrality debate as AI neutrality—making advanced technology accessible right at home!
