Microsoft unveils a preview model of Copilot Vision, an AI-powered browsing assistant, to combat the loneliness coming out of browsing making it interactive by enabling voice command and automatic navigation of webpages through AI.

How does it work?

When the user enables Copilot Vision, it analyses the webpage that the user is on, further reads it with the user,  listens to the problem of the reader, and finally gets you the solution. It is the first AI experience of its kind making AI-powered Web navigation a reality by transforming people's experience of the web and filtering the clutter out of the webpages.

Which tasks can it perform?

Simply stated, in terms of Microsoft's blog post, from helping you plan a fun day at a museum, to helping with your holiday shopping & even simplifying information and learning.

Microsoft has boasted of the features by means of videos where people enable Copilot Vision and ask it to plan their trip to a museum through a series of questions that navigate the user through the museum’s website to align priorities and interests, That sounds great!

First of its kind

With this, Microsoft unveils a first-of-its-kind product in AI application that holds some real value for the people. It holds the potential to ease people’s efforts and make web navigation more interesting altogether, again. This might prove as the much-needed innovation that browsers need in the era of growing competition from AI chatbots after the unveiling of the search feature in chatbots.

Transformational Journey

The new innovation by Microsoft holds immense potential. It might take the browsers on a transformational journey paving the way for more enhanced, user-friendly, and AI-powered browsers to replace the existing browsing applications.

Additionally, the growing acceptance of AI by the public makes this innovation much more attractive in terms of the prospective demand it can have once it becomes public.

How does it ensure Privacy?

Vision is designed with your control and privacy in mind. Users have the choice to opt in, deciding when to activate it as their "second set of eyes" for navigating the web. Furthermore, the data is treated with care—once the session with Vision ends, all information shared, including interactions and context provided to Copilot, is completely erased. This ensures a secure and personalized experience every time one uses it.

Availability

We are taking a thoughtful approach to rolling out Vision. Initially, it will be available to a limited group of Copilot Pro subscribers in the United States through Copilot Labs. To ensure the best experience, Vision will support only a curated selection of websites during this early phase.
