Uber-OpenAI Partnership Boosting User Personalization and Efficiency in Mobility
Uber has adopted different yet specific AI strategies for its verticals enabling efficiency, automation, and convenience in both internal and external facets of the company.

In a recent interview with OpenAI, Uber’s Jai Malkani, Head of AI and Product, highlighted the AI-driven innovations adopted by the global mobility and delivery platform company under its various verticals. As per the interview, OpenAI’s AI Model is empowering Uber with some major goals. It includes nuanced insight into user needs, reduced friction in the Uber app, and finally the creation of adaptive services that evolve in real-time. 

OpenAI’s integration has allowed Uber to function efficiently at an unprecedented scale without compromising its accuracy and reliability. Giving a sneak peek into Uber’s AI strategy, he goes on to add that Uber has developed specific strategies for its different verticals, such as Rides, Food, and Groceries.  It spans from automatic fare adjustment to processing refunds and reorders, and finally maintaining inventory.

He says that Uber has enabled a transformative shift in its interaction with drivers and customers through robust AI usage. It spans from personalizing interaction with drivers to offering near-instantaneous, intelligent experiences like fare change, and route re-alignment among others.

Apart from this, AI has also enabled a seamless, personalized, and intuitive customer experience through in-app chats and interactions on Uber.

He says, “ The time to kind of think about, hey, whether I should use AI or not use AI, is over” as he underlines the prospects of AI in the technological revolution unfolding today.
