Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched its Intranet Fiber TV (IFTV) services in the Punjab circle, following successful rollouts in Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. This makes Punjab the third region to benefit from BSNL's groundbreaking fiber-based TV service.

First Fiber-Based TV Service

BSNL’s IFTV service is the first of its kind in India, offering more than 500 live TV channels along with premium pay-TV content. Unlike traditional internet-dependent services, IFTV operates independently of internet connectivity and delivers significantly higher video quality compared to HD satellite services.

Exclusive to BSNL FTTH Customers

This service is exclusively available to BSNL’s Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) customers. To enjoy the IFTV experience, users must subscribe to BSNL’s FTTH plans, which are widely available across Punjab and come with competitive pricing compared to private telecom providers.

Demonstrated at India Mobile Congress 2024

BSNL showcased its IFTV services at the recently concluded India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024. As an introductory offer, the service will be provided to customers in Punjab at no additional cost, enhancing its appeal to existing and potential subscribers. BSNL stated, “The CMD BSNL launched the IFTV service in the Punjab circle. Bringing a new era of seamless connectivity and digital entertainment. BSNL redefines home entertainment with IFTV—India’s first fiber-based intranet TV service with access to 500+ live channels and premium pay TV content with crystal-clear streaming over BSNL’s FTTH network.” Currently BSNL is not charging for its services in either of its circles. “Only in the future, once it is available in all the areas and the tests are completed, commercial plans for the service are expected,” BSNL added.
