Google has successfully renewed its carriage agreement with Paramount Global, ensuring that popular channels like CBS, CBS Sports, and Nickelodeon remain available to YouTube TV subscribers. The agreement comes just in time as the previous contract was nearing expiration, raising concerns about potential service disruptions. As part of this renewed partnership, YouTube TV will continue offering its extensive lineup of over 100 channels, with an additional perk—subscribers will now have access to Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. This expansion aligns with YouTube TV’s goal of providing more content choices for its users.
YouTube Expresses Gratitude to Subscribers
In a statement released on its website, YouTube TV reassured its users, saying, “We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal to continue carrying Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, and more. With this agreement, YouTube TV will continue to offer 100+ channels and add-ons, including Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, while enabling more user choice in the future. To our subscribers, we appreciate your patience while we negotiated on your behalf.”
Avoiding a Potential Service Disruption
Prior to finalising the deal, Paramount Global had begun alerting its customers about a possible interruption in service. However, the successful negotiations ensure that viewers can continue enjoying their favourite content without disruption.
