The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, is planning to launch the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) to create a consistent and unified look for all government websites and platforms in India. This initiative aims to standardise visual and written elements, improving how users experience these sites. By outlining key features like logos, colour schemes, fonts, images, brand tone, and messaging, DBIM will help make government services more recognisable and easier for citizens to use.
Gov.In Initiative: Harmonising Government's Digital Presence
As part of the Gov.In: Harmonisation of Government of India's Digital Footprint initiative, DBIM seeks to streamline and standardise the digital identity of government ministries, departments, and agencies. The effort aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of leveraging technology to improve governance, ensuring greater accessibility and efficiency in service delivery. A uniform digital identity will not only enhance credibility but also reinforce public trust in government-hosted information.

This uniformity is expected to strengthen the integrity of government data and improve accessibility across various platforms, including websites, mobile applications, and social media channels. By adopting a cohesive approach, government departments can present a strong, trustworthy, and globally recognised brand identity.
