The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has partnered with Three D Integrated Solutions Ltd. (ThreeDiS) to launch a Center of Excellence (CoE). This initiative aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, aiming to revolutionise airport navigation, communication, and security systems in the country.
Collaboration for strategic innovation
The CoE will harness the research capabilities of the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), a leading R&D institute under MeitY. This collaboration seeks to address critical challenges in strategic and civilian airport systems, combining advanced technology with indigenous expertise. The partnership is supported by the MANTHAN initiative, spearheaded by the office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India.
MoU signing ceremony
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalising the partnership was signed between SAMEER and ThreeDiS. Dr. P. Hanumantha Rao, Director General of SAMEER, and Nandy Bhatia, Chairman and Managing Director of ThreeDiS, represented their respective organisations. The event was attended by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, PSA; S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY; and senior officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Driving self-reliance in aviation technology
S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, emphasised the partnership's role in fostering self-reliance in aviation technology. "This collaboration will lead to the development of indigenous technologies and products that meet international standards in airport navigation, communication, and surveillance," he said.
