Google has recently announced the integration of Gemini AI in Google TV in the ongoing CES 2025. It renders AI capabilities to Google TV contributing to it becoming more interactive and intuitive. This addition would contribute to the TV becoming more helpful to the audiences, changing the viewpoint of looking at a screen. 

This brings a significant stage in the industry wherein the companies are going all out to redefine people’s experience with a screen by integrating AI into the same contributing to its utility and attractiveness as a technology. 

What you can do? 

As AI integration would make the screens interactive and intuitive users can now interact with it as with AI in their phones and PCs. However, the specific tasks that it will be able to perform are as: 

1. Searching through media: Forget scrolling endlessly! Simply ask Google TV to find your favorite movie, TV show, or genre.  For example: "Show me feel-good comedies," or "Find cooking shows from last year." Gemini AI understands your preferences and suggests tailored options.
2. Enabling Dialectic Interactions: Turn your TV into a conversational AI companion. You can ask questions like: "What’s trending on Netflix today?" or "Recommend something similar to [a show you like]." Your TV responds intelligently, making your viewing experience seamless and fun.
3. Creating Customized Artwork: Want to set your TV as the centerpiece of your living room? Gemini AI lets you create customized digital artwork or photo slideshows based on themes you specify, like "coastal landscapes" or "abstract art in pastel colors."
4. Control Home Devices: Integrate your Google TV with other smart devices. Use commands like: "Dim the lights to 50%," or "Turn on the air conditioner." Your TV becomes a hub for managing your home with ease.

Availability 

Google plans to roll out these features by the end of this year on select Google TV Devices.
