The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has greenlighted two major investment proposals to establish semiconductor fabrication units in Noida having a cumulative worth of Rs 30,700 Crores.

Tarq Semiconductors
Tarq proposes to establish a fab Unit with an investment of Rs 27,000 Crore in Noida’s Sector 28 dating back to the Global Investors Summit. It got approved by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) last time to pave the way for the state government’s approval. Further, all it needs now is a concurrence from the center.

The fabrication unit will manufacture integrated circuits or microchips that power an array of devices ranging from Mobile Phones and PCs to Cars and TVs. The unit will be established over an area of 125 acres, 114 acres for the manufacturing unit, and 11 acres for the green plantation.

Vama Sundari Investments,  HCL Group
Vama Sundari group has proposed to establish a fab unit with an investment of Rs 3,700 crore to manufacture 2.4 Lkah small panel driver ICs and Display Driver ICs. The unit will be manufacturing 2.4  lakh units of the same, annually. It will be situated in Sector 10, Noida spanning 50 acres, for which the land has been allocated.

The project is a Joint Venture between Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development Pvt Ltd & Vama Sundari Holding Company, with Vama Sundari holding a 60% stake and Foxconn 40%. The Project poses a requirement of 19,000 KVA of electricity and 2,000 MLD of water per day, as per YEIDA officials. The project has the bandwidth of potentially generating 1,000 direct jobs with 10,000 indirect jobs in the economy.

Arun Vir Singh, CEO-YEIDA
"The Tarq facility will be built on 125 acres in Sector 28, becoming a flagship project in Uttar Pradesh's efforts to create a robust semiconductor supply chain. The chips produced here will be vital for everyday household electronics," TOI reports.

Strategic Location
Both the projects have been allocated lands near the Upcoming Jewar International Airport which aims to serve multiple purposes. One among them is the development of the area itself while ensuring the industries' full-fledged connectivity through Rail, Road, and Air, all three while keeping the projects in a highly attractive region receiving plenty of government support.

As the UP government aims to develop the Yeida region, it is a piece of welcoming news as it holds immense potential to facilitate a humongous amount of people as well as capital.
