Samsung announces its all-new “Trade-In” program, on Tuesday to enable Galaxy users to trade in Samsung Galaxy devices at any time of the year on Samsung.com, even if the customer is not willing to buy a new phone. The program aims to boost the value of Galaxy devices for users in the long term. 

It will ensure that the customer enjoys a premium quality Galaxy phone, along with unlocking amazing savings through the simple and secure trade-in process.

Circular Economy 

“We’re excited to launch our brand-new year-round Galaxy Trade-In Program in an effort to enrich the value of Galaxy devices for users and contribute to a circular economy,” said Jun Kim, EVP and Head of Galaxy Value Innovation team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. 

“We believe customers can greatly benefit from the value of their devices in the market and the ability to trade in safely with the support of secure transactions,” he added.

Regions chosen 

Samsung has chosen two regions to pursue the project. The program will be piloted in Korea and France starting today and expand to more regions through 2025. Partnered with Samsung, the program will be managed and operated by Likewize.

A good Initiative 

This initiative by Samsung is commendable as it aims to deliver on the metric of look and feel that people today associate with in terms of carrying a smartphone. This initiative would in turn increase the aftersale value of Galaxy products as the company itself remains prospective regarding trading in its old phones. 

Finally, the initiative will put Samsung’s customers at the beneficial end making sure that they enjoy the most of their smartphone experience while being free regarding the depreciation and such.
