Swiggy, India’s leading food delivery company, has announced plans to launch its quick commerce service, Instamart, as a standalone app. While Instamart will continue to operate on the main Swiggy platform, the new app will provide users with an enhanced experience tailored specifically for quick commerce needs. Instamart has now extended its services to 76 cities across India, solidifying its position as a key player in the quick commerce sector. With 10-minute deliveries for over 50,000 products, the service is set to transform how Indians shop for everyday essentials.

Sriharsha Majety, Swiggy’s Managing Director and Group CEO, highlighted that Instamart is poised to outpace Swiggy’s core food delivery business in both scale and user penetration. The company aims to reach over 100 million users as it continues to expand its presence and offerings.

Unified and standalone strategy

The standalone Instamart app will complement its existing integration with Swiggy’s platform. Users can continue to enjoy Swiggy One, One Lite, and One BLCK membership benefits across both apps, ensuring a seamless experience. Android users can already access an Instamart-first shortcut via the Google Play Store.

Building on proven models

Swiggy’s approach mirrors its strategy with Dineout, the restaurant reservation service it acquired. While Dineout is integrated into the Swiggy app, it also functions as an independent application, allowing users multiple access points.

Expanding multi-service offerings

Swiggy which partners with over 200,000 restaurants across 680+ cities for food delivery, is expanding its multi-service strategy to dominate the convenience delivery sector. The move aligns with the company’s vision to diversify and offer services that cater to a broad range of consumer needs.
