Meghalaya CM inaugurates Integrated Command & Control Centre at Umsawli to Optimise City-Level Responses
The Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) is a well-designed, fully integrated, web-enabled solution to enable a seamless response mechanism.

The Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma inaugurated the Integrated Command &Control Centre (ICCC) at Umsawli, New Shillong Township. It has been dubbed as the brain of the city. 

Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC)
The ICCC has been built for Rs 226.08 Crore to improve synergy between various departments within urban local bodies and other government agencies to address civic issues and grievances. It features a centralized monitoring infrastructure at the Command & Control Centre including a command room with screens and operator systems. 

It is a well-designed, fully integrated, web-enabled solution to enable a seamless response mechanism  

Brain of the City 
The various infrastructures installed within it include Integrated Solid waste Management with GPS tracking for 50 waste collection trucks and a City Surveillance System with 328 camera across 70-+ locations. 

Objective 
It will serve as the Decision Support System for the city to respond to real-time challenges faced by the authorities at district level decision-making and response. It will consume data feed from various sources to streamline the processes.

It will enable reactive as well as proactive responses making the city operations SMART.    

Right & Timely Decision 
“The ICCC is a platform, a technology, an area, and a space acting as a connection to different kinds of activities going on in the IT feed, such as the APIs, live data, and other technologies, which will enable us to monitor different activities in the state, providing access to data for decision-makers to decide on the way forward. The potential is immense, as it is a mechanism and technology that can assist us in making the right and timely decisions,” said Conrad K Snagma, CM of Meghalaya. 

Well-governed City 
The Deputy CM spoke about Shilong being the 100th City under the Smart Cities Mission to receive funds for projects such as ICCC making it a  a Smart City focused on creating a livable, clean, green, inclusive, modern, safe, and well-governed city. 

He also spoke about putting in collective efforts as in the government and the public both to achieve stupendous and desired results.
