The 10th edition of the Smart Cities India Expo, scheduled from 19 to 21 March 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, is set to be a hub of future technologies, focusing on Robotics, Automation, Drones, Cyber Security, Urban Innovation, Smart Mobility, Smart ICT, Greentech, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). With over 1,200 participants and 350 startups expected to showcase their innovations, the event anticipates attracting around 55,000 visitors. The high-level conference and City Leaders Conclave will feature influential policymakers, Smart City CEOs, city planners, mayors, ambassadors, and key stakeholders from India and across the globe, offering invaluable insights into the future of smart urban development.
A significant highlight of the expo will be a panel discussion titled "Mission Accomplished? Reflecting on the Journey and Scaling Innovation for Future-Ready Smart Cities." A Decade of SCM: Progress and Achievements
Launched in 2015, the Smart Cities Mission was envisioned to drive sustainable and citizen-centric urban development in India. Over the past ten years, the initiative has made remarkable strides in transforming urban landscapes, improving the quality of life, and boosting economic growth.
As of December 2024, the Smart Cities Mission has successfully completed 91 per cent of the proposed projects, with a total investment of ₹1.47 lakh crore. These projects span a wide array of initiatives aimed at enhancing urban living, including the establishment of Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCCs) across all 100 Smart Cities in India.
Beyond digital governance, the mission has also prioritised sustainable infrastructure development, smart mobility solutions, energy-efficient buildings, and robust waste management systems.
