JetSetGo Aviation, a leading operator in chartered aircraft and fleet services, has announced strategic collaborations with advanced eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) technology firms SkyDrive and Eve Air Mobility. These partnerships aim to develop and deploy urban air mobility (UAM) services in India, marking a significant step forward in the future of sustainable city transportation. The announcement was made during the ongoing Urban Air Mobility Expo and Conference, part of the CII-organized Bharat Global Mobility Show.
Collaboration with SkyDrive: Exploring Electric Multi-Copters
JetSetGo and SkyDrive have signed an initial agreement to explore opportunities for deploying the three-seat, fully electric multi-copter, SKYDRIVE. This pact also includes a Letter of Intent (LOI) for a pre-order of up to 50 electric aircraft, highlighting the potential scale of this venture. The collaboration aims to validate practical use cases and assess market demand for urban air mobility solutions. Initial projects are set to launch in Gujarat, with plans for future expansion across other regions in India.
Partnering with Eve Air Mobility: Integrating Advanced Traffic Management
In addition, JetSetGo has entered into a strategic partnership with Eve Air Mobility to integrate Eve’s advanced urban air traffic management (UATM) solution, Vector, into its future fleet of eVTOL aircraft. This integration is expected to ensure seamless and efficient operations for the upcoming urban air mobility services.
Previous Commitments: Building a Robust Fleet
Earlier, JetSetGo announced a $1.3 billion deal to acquire 280 hybrid-electric aircraft—with an option for 130 more—from three global aviation tech leaders: Electra.aero, Horizon Aircraft, and Overair. These hybrid-electric aircraft are intended for diverse applications, including airport transfers, regional connectivity, inter-city commutes, intra-city shuttles, and urban air taxi services.
Vision for Urban Air Mobility in India
Kanika Tekriwal, Founder of JetSetGo, emphasized the transformative potential of urban air mobility. "This technology can reshape how we move within cities, making travel faster, more efficient, and environmentally sustainable," she said. Tekriwal added that JetSetGo’s goal is to create a system that addresses real-world challenges like traffic congestion, high emissions, and limited access to quick and safe travel. Jonathan Sumner, Chief Strategy Officer at JetSetGo, echoed these sentiments, stating, "Urban air mobility is about creating a new transport ecosystem that drives both economic growth and social benefits."
Pioneering a New Era of Transportation
JetSetGo’s partnerships with SkyDrive and Eve Air Mobility signify a bold step toward making urban air mobility an everyday reality for millions. With projects already in the pipeline, the company is well-positioned to establish India as a global leader in the future of aviation.
