As per a report by Globaldata, a leading data and analytics company, the revenue for mobile broadband services is likely to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 5.2% to reach up to $296.2 Billion in 2029.

Cause of Impetus

The reason behind the impetus is the rapid adoption of 5G across the length and breadth of the Asia Pacific region. The availability and spread of the 5G connectivity would be the driving factor for the Mobile broadband industry.

User Penetration

At the same time, the mobile user penetration in Asia-Pacific will reach 82.9 percent in 2029. It will be driven by the industry’s focus on making regions more and more connected by expanding the network coverage in unconnected and far-flung regions. Additionally, another potential reason behind the same can be attributed to discounted subscriber plans or promotional plans offered by the telcos.

In developed Asia, the number of mobile users will increase at a depressing rate of 0.4% while it will grow at a much better rate in emerging areas or underdeveloped areas.  The growth in emerging areas would be primarily driven by the affordability & accessibility of smartphones.

Other Causes of the Growth

Other reasons for the impetus can be attributed to increasing government support for the network expansion and growing impetus on 5G.

The Key Nation

Taiwan will be the key nation in driving the 5G Mobile broadband market with a coverage of 94.6%, owing to the government’s impetus.
