No More Spam Calls All Day, Nearly 27% of People Report a Reduction after TRAI’s Policy
Last month itself TRAI had extended the deadline to comply with Traceability Guidelines issued by the same aimed at combating spam.

In a survey by online platform LocalCircles, it has been found that around 27 percent of the people in the total surveyed have experienced a reduction in Spam calls. 

Increase in Robotic Calls 


While 27% of the surveyed people reported a reduction in spam calls, 18% of these complained about increased robocalls instead of the typical telemarketing calls. 

Net Reduction 


Among 27% reported a reduction in Spam calls, 9% of these have reported a net reduction in spam calls.  LocalCircles has seen this figure of 27% for a reduction in Spam Calls, for the first time. While the report also suggests the regulator be vigilant as an increment in robocalls is on the cards.

Last month itself the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) extended the deadline to comply with Traceability Guidelines issued by the same aimed at combating spam. It also has plans to disconnect all the private numbers that get are anyways involved in telemarketing whether spam calls or spam texts.

"It's a big menace to the privacy of telecom consumers. For registered telemarketers, TRAI has a comprehensive regulatory framework," the telecom regulator's Chairman had said earlier in an interview with NDTV. 

Safe and Secure Ecosystem


 As part of TRAI's ongoing efforts to reduce spam, over 800 entities and individuals have been blacklisted, and more than 1.8 million mobile numbers and telecom resources have been disconnected. This marks a major step towards cleaning up systems and curbing the spread of commercial calls.
Through this initiative, TRAI aims to tackle the spam problem and foster a safer telecom environment. The organization has introduced various measures to prevent the misuse of headers and content templates, ensuring robust safety protocols for consumers. TRAI has also called on telecom companies to cut ties with any unregistered telemarketers.
