Honeywell and Google have signed a contract to integrate Google’s parent Alphabet’s Gemini with Honeywell’s industrial data to streamline autonomous operations.
Scope of Work
The deal would bring together Google’s Gemini and the industrial data collected by Honeywell’s forge. This amalgamation would allow the Gen-AI to automate the processes and ensure convenient as well as learned processes without any human intervention, just based upon the data.
Potential Use Cases
The potential solution is being built on Google’s Veretex AI platform. It would further help technicians, engineers, and logistics workers to automate the processes as this collab would take to Honeywell’s first AI-enabled innovation. The project is slated to be available for customers by 2025.
The potential innovation would likely be “Workplace Coaches” making it easier for the people to understand all the data that have, long been collected by Honeywell.
Vimal Kapur, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell
"The path to autonomy requires assets working harder, people working smarter, and processes working more efficiently," said Vimal Kapur.
Prospects
With an AI-enabled solution in place, processes would get easier and streamlined decreasing the product design cycles as the users would be able to process various sorts of data through the same ranging from texts to images, videos, and most importantly sensor readings.
It would further reduce maintenance costs hence bringing the burn rate down and also upskilling the employees with AI applications. It even aims to enable its devices to operate with minimal or zero internet leveraging the LLM at its disposal.
