JDA Adopts Innovative Algae-based Air Purifier Technology
The air purifier not only cleans the air, it reduces the likelihood of persistent headaches, asthma, allergies, brain fog, and impaired concentration caused by excessive carbon dioxide levels.

Jaipur Industrial Development Authority has installed an innovative air purifier in its community service center to ensure fresh air in the high foot traffic sections.

What is it made of?
Although the purifier comes in customizable shapes and sizes, the one at JDA is a 250-liter photobioreactor filled with a unique strain of microalgae. It is also equipped with specially designed LED lights to facilitate 24/7 photosynthesis and a pump that draws ambient air into the tank.

How does it work?
The Pump draws the air into the tank, where the microalgae consume the CO2 content of the air enabling them to grow. Further, the algae initiate the process of photosynthesis and release an equal amount of fresh O2(Oxygen) into the air. Hence the process of purifying air is achieved through a completely organic and natural solution.

Why is it Innovative?
The technology gets its innovation from its making up to its application. Primarily, the technology in itself is an innovation, and secondly, the customizable specification of the same makes it more attractive for bigger venues receiving high footfall.

Not just an Air Purifier.
The air purifier not only cleans the air, it reduces the likelihood of persistent headaches, asthma, allergies, brain fog, and impaired concentration caused by excessive carbon dioxide levels.

What does JDA Say?
"The best thing about this technology is its affordability. The device comes in customized sizes based on room dimensions and is particularly efficient for air-conditioned spaces with high foot traffic, such as auditoriums and visitor rooms. We may install additional units in the future, depending on its success," said a senior JDA engineer as per a report by ET
