Amantya Technologies, a lead product engineering and system integration company based in Gurgaon, Pune, USA, and Canada, bags a grant from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), under the Ministry of Communications, Government of India for a project titled “Development of ‘India 5G Stack’ with the Next-Gen 3GPP Release 16/17 Compliant ‘Made in India 5G SA Core’ for Public and Enterprise Deployment.”
The project aims to design and deploy a secure and scalable 5G solution facilitating large-scale technology deployment, the press release stated.
Objective
The company plans to enhance its enterprise-grade 5G Standalone (SA) Core to deliver a carrier-grade solution aligned with the latest 3GPP standards. This initiative focuses on developing a domestic 5G SA Core with upgraded nodes. The improved 5G SA Core network will adhere to 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards and feature enhanced security capabilities.
It makes the prospective technology ideal for large-scale public carrier and private enterprise deployments.
A key milestone
Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, stated, "Amantya’s initiative is a key milestone for India’s telecom ecosystem. Developing a 5G SA Core domestically will provide an indigenous option for deployment under “Atmanirbhar Bharat. We look forward to overseeing this project and supporting innovations that can benefit both public carriers and enterprises."

Compatibility of technology
These networks will be equipped to support advanced features such as network slicing, Quality of Service (QoS), Voice over New Radio (VoNR), Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication (URLLC), and massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC) to facilitate efficiency and faster service delivery by organizations.
This means the network deployment across the sector would become future-proof and ready to embrace the increasing customer demands and expectations.
Benefits of the technology
The solution will include critical functionalities like geo-redundancy to enhance reliability, high availability for uninterrupted service, and automatic scaling to handle dynamic network demands efficiently.
The technology is also designed to support deployment on general-purpose hardware or cloud infrastructure, offering flexibility and cost efficiency.

Cloud Agnostic Solution
The solution will also be cloud-agnostic, supporting deployment on platforms like Kubernetes, OpenStack, and OpenShift, making it flexible for use on carrier, private, or on-premises clouds.
Self-reliance
Anuradha Gupta, CEO of Amantya Technologies remarked, "We are honoured to receive this grant under the TTDF scheme. Developing a carrier-grade 5G SA Core solution within India is a significant step towards achieving self-reliance in telecom technology. This project aligns with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and will enhance the country's telecom infrastructure while preparing us for future advancements like 6G."
