BSNL’s revenue grows by 12 percent to reach 21,000 Crores in the last 3-4 years, minister says
BSNL aims to garner a good market out of the telecom boom taking shape in India simultaneously enriching the industry with its innovations.

In an interview with the Times group, The minister of Communications Mr. J M Scindia tells the audience that the state-run PSU Bhartiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is back on its feet as its revenue has grown by 12% to reach Rs 21,000 crores on the last 3-4 years. Apart from these, the minister adds that the PSU’s expenditure has declined by around 2% in the last 4 years with an emergence of positive Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA). 

The statement was coupled with the acknowledgment that the government has been doing a lot for BSNL to allow it to expand and make its footprint visible across the spreads and corners of India. 

Latest on BSNL 

Very recently BSNL has successfully deployed the 4G connectivity infrastructure at Chhiyalekh adjacent to the China border of Vyas Valley and the last post Nabhidang situated at an altitude of 14,500 feet. BSNL and ITBP also conducted a trial call to the people residing in the foothills and lower valley.

TRAI the regulatory body has noted a stark difference between Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) and consumer organizations/individuals regarding mandating Voice and SMS-only vouchers. BSNL's ambitions 

Along with unveiling a new logo very recently, it has launched 7 more offerings facilitating new and innovative services to reach its consumers. It is probably trying to woo customers as the Indian telecom sector grows more and more competitive.  

It includes Automatic Spam Blocking Solution,  Nationwide Wi-Fi Romainmg Service, Direct-to-Device Connectivity,  Captive 5G Network for coal mines, etc.

Prospects 

The PSU’s aspirations seem to take shape as it maneuvers its place and position in the highly competitive Indian telecom sector. It is going all-out in wooing its customers as India is witnessing its biggest telecom boom. Looking at the initiatives, it seems that the telco aims to garner a good market out of the boom and also enrich the industry with its innovations.
