Inspired by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi's vision to make cleanliness a collective responsibility, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) is celebrating Swachhata Pakhwada with great enthusiasm. This annual initiative ensures the participation of all Central Government Ministries, Departments, and associated organisations, including autonomous bodies, CPSEs, and institutions under MeitY’s jurisdiction. The aim is to integrate cleanliness into everyday governance and make it a priority across departments and institutions.

A Milestone: 10 Years of Swachhata Pakhwada

The year 2025 marks a significant milestone as MeitY completes ten consecutive years of Swachhata Pakhwada implementation. The initiative has been shared with all associated organisations, encouraging them to actively participate in cleanliness drives. As part of this effort, departmental canteens across MeitY offices are undergoing a thorough Swachhata makeover to enhance hygiene standards.

Collective Efforts for a Cleaner Workplace and Community

To spread awareness and encourage participation, banners and posters emphasising the importance of Swachhata Pakhwada were prominently displayed across workplaces. Every organisation actively took part in various cleanliness activities daily, ensuring a visible and lasting impact. The initiatives included the removal of unwanted clutter, dusting, sanitisation, waste segregation, and toilet cleaning, creating a cleaner and more pleasant work environment.

By working together, MeitY and its affiliated organisations are taking a meaningful step towards achieving the vision of “Clean India and Healthy India.” With collective efforts and continued commitment, this initiative is fostering a sustainable culture of cleanliness within government institutions and beyond.
