As the telecom sector in India spangs its feet to the satellites and AI, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is nowhere behind in matching up the private networks.
Logo Launch
BSNL has unveiled its new logo that reads “Securely, Affordably, Reliably”. It symbolizes, as per the telco, 3 things namely,
- Tryst
- Strength
- Nationwide Reach
Along with unveiling a new logo, it has launched 7 more offerings facilitating new and innovative services to reach its consumers. It is probably trying to woo customers as the Indian telecom sector grows more and more competitive.
Offering 01: Spam Blocking Solution
The telco has launched a spam-blocking solution that automatically filters and blocks all malicious and phishing SMSes. It aims to create a safe and secure telecom experience for its users by ensuring minimal or absolutely no attempts of fraud and misleading.
Offering 02: Nationwide Wi-Fi Romainmg Service
The telco has launched a nationwide WiFi roaming service specifically for the Fibre Taken To Home (FTTH) users. It aims to provide the concerned users with high-speed internet access across the country at no extra charge.
Offering 03: Fibre-based Intranet TV
The telco has introduced an all-new fiber-based Intranet TV service equipped with more than 500 premium Live channels that can be accessed by its users. In a bid to woo the users, the telco has also promised that the data consumed in television content won’t eat up broadband data packs.
Offering 04: Direct-to-Device Connectivity
The telco has introduced an all-new direct-to-device connectivity solution by amalgamating satellite and terrestrial mobile networks to deliver its users a seamless experience across all the regions of India. It would empower the users to communicate and make payments using UPI hard-to-reach areas having minimal or no terrestrial network connectivity.
Offering 05: Encrypted Communication
The telco will also be offering an encrypted communication service to the government and relief agencies in times of disaster and crisis. It would probably involve an arrangement resembling drone-based or balloon-based systems to facilitate the same. The arrangements would aim to enhance and extend the coverage during disasters.
Offering 06: ATS Kiosk(s)
The telco is also trying to make it easier for the users to buy their sim cards enhancing the accessibility of their services and network. It plans to set up Any Time SIM (ATS) Kiosks to automate the process of dispensing, validating, and activating SIM cards after proper KYC by the user. It would make it much easier for the people to buy the telco’s sim already putting it ahead in the race.
Offering 07: Captive 5G Network
The telco has also unveiled the first Captive 5G network in India for Coal Mines employing Indigenous 5G equipment to enable AI and IoT applications in underground as well as large opencast mines. It is being done in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). It would enable a slew of innovations including fleet tracking, real-time tracking, safety analytics, and many more.

Prospects
BSNL is going all-out in wooing its customers as India is witnessing its biggest telecom boom. Looking at the offerings, it seems, the telco aims to garner a good market out of the boom and also enrich the industry with its innovations.
