TRAI Chairman Inaugurates the 3-day Long SATRC Workshop on Spectrum in Goa
The 3-day long workshop by SATRC aims to address various issues concerning spectrum usage and management along with charting a plan for optimizing spectrum utilization.

Mr. Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairperson- Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the regulator of the telecom sector in India,  inaugurates the 3-Day-long workshop of the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC) on Spectrum in Goa. The 3-day long workshop has been convened to discuss the key issues related to spectrum management. It will culminate with the development of best practices and strategies for effective spectrum utilization after due consultation among the participant nations and industry experts.

Across the various addresses delivered on the day of the inauguration, even by Mr. Abdul Kayum- Chair of SATRC Working Group on Spectrum,  key issues that have been addressed range from the necessity for regional collaboration ensuring efficient management of spectrum resources to challenges faced by regulators concerning spectrums. The initial addresses have focused particularly on efficient and optimized utilization of the spectrum in the South-Asia region. 

SATRC Workshop: Effective Spectrum Management 


During his inaugural address, Mr. Anil Kumar Lahoti underscores the importance of efficient spectrum management in today’s digital era. He emphasizes that the telecom sector is a driving force behind innovation and empowerment, playing a pivotal role in advancing digital transformation and delivering solutions that improve the quality of life.

SATRC Workshop: Other Key Issues 


Other than the critical issue mentioned above the workshop aims to address other issues too, concerning emerging technologies, spectrum allocation, and policy development. As per Sh. Lahoti, by fostering collaboration and exchange of best practices, this event will help build regulatory capacity, strengthen cross-border cooperation, and support sustainable growth in the telecommunications sector.

SATRC Workshop: Participating Countries 


This three-day workshop will bring delegates from SATRC member countries, working group members, industry experts, and representatives from various government departments under one roof. Organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity and hosted by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the event will take place at the DoubleTree by the Hilton Hotel in Goa, India.
